Speaker: Mr. Paul Falohun

Technology Adoption & Evolution, Friend or Foe with Paul Falohun

For this monthly mixer in March VMBC’s guest speaker, Paul Falohun will be talking about how to protect yourself and your business from cyber attacks and be more informed about the trendy cyber security risks of today.

Paul Falohun is a Senior Security Analyst with the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) of BC. His main duty is to assist with the implementation of security initiatives across the Province.

Paul has consulting experience and has worked with 2 of the “Big 4” professional services firm. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer and Network Systems Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration, and is proficient in Russian language.

He currently serves on the board of ISACA Victoria Chapter as Certifications Director. Among others, Paul holds the following certificates:

  • CSX-F (Cyber Security Nexus Foundation)
  • CISM  (Certified Information Security Manager)
  • COBIT 5  Business Framework for Governance
  • ITIL-F Certificate in IT Service Management

Speaker: Mr. Roger Junker

The Future of the Grocery Industry in the Internet Age, Opportunities and Careers in an Ever Changing Economy with Roger Junker

For the monthly mixer in April VMBC’s guest speaker, Roger Junker, will be talking about how to become a store manager and move through the ranks in the retail industry, as well as starting a career in the retail industry, especially in Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG).

Roger Junker, the Store Manager of Save on Foods at Saanich Plaza was born and raised in Castlegar, B.C.  He started his career in the food retail industry when he worked for Safeway in 1983.  He took some time off to attend Business School and; he returned to Safeway and ascended through various manager ranks including Produce Manager / Assistant Manager which is said to be the final and essential assessment to being a Store Manager.  His journey in the FMCG industry took him to all of the Kootenay Stores, Vernon, Surrey, the Head office in Vancouver, Terrace, and eventually to Victoria.  In 2014, he switched to Save on Foods while he was located at the Fort and Foul Bay store.  Since, he has led the Save on Foods Tillicum store and now the Saanich Plaza location.  He has trained 12 Store Managers who have been his assistants and his leadership has been credited as bar none.
