Speaker: Mr. Steve Bertrand

If I Can Do It, You Can Do It

Steve Bertrand was born in Edmonton and has been living in Victoria for the last 29 years. Born 3 months premature Causing Cerebral Palsy he has achieved a lot in this lifetime.

He played many different wheelchair sports; such as, basketball, rugby, tennis and curling. He has a diploma in Business Administration from Sprott-Shaw.  He works full-time providing tech support for an online marketing and web-design company.  He also has his own side business where he assesses businesses to help with accessibility.  He does keynote presentations.  He is a member of the Accessibility Working Group, through the City of Victoria.  He races cars and practices the Martial Art Aikido.

He is going to share his story…”You Can Do It”

Sue Maitland is an experienced and results-oriented professional life and career transitions coach and speaker with a proven track record of successful personal and professional transitions across ten different disciplines.

After a career spanning 25 years in information technology, Sue discovered her ideal vocation over four years ago when she became an ICF Certified Life & Career Transitions Coach. She focuses a specific area of her coaching practice on helping people make successful personal and professional transitions when moving to Victoria. Sue has helped hundreds of clients explore new career possibilities, discover the power and benefits of networking and helped them transition into more satisfying and fulfilling careers within their current discipline, or perhaps doing something completely new.

She enjoys helping professionals who are considering leaving the corporate world to explore new career options including semiretirement careers doing something that inspires them and allows them to utilise the skills they most enjoy using.

Funding Available To Start a Small Business & Skills Needed To Be an Entrepreneur

Larry Earnhart works for a company that has a government contract to turn Youth into Entrepreneurs. He has been an entrepreneur, owned a restaurant and a handyman franchise and currently has a business coaching business. He’s also been a financial advisor and worked in the chemical production industry in the U.S. as an Operations Manager, Lab Manager, Project Manager, Safety, Environmental and Quality Manager and Emergency Response Team Leader. He also teaches online business courses for University Canada West. He has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from Pepperdine University. He’s also written a book: The Profit Machine.
